Texts inside:

In India, the beaches of Goa have always attracted the free spirited fringe element. Since the late sixties and right trough the 70's, the hippies cultures traveler gathered to party and celebrate with music. Its had become the norm.

As the 80's began a few hippies partied on as usual, but something decidely unusual had been added. A growing few of them had brought a new influence that was about to change the world: Electronic Music.

The basic hippie tenets of Freedom, Peace, and a Love of Nature and Psychedelics have endured virtually unchanged. But as a new generation became aware of the hippie philosophy and life style, they logically interpreted the music in their own way. A generation steeped in electronics, they brought their technology to the tunes, and unknowingly initiated the rebirth of the 60/70s Flower Power Era with a modern feel and a different name: Psychedelic Trance.

Psy-Trance spread like a virus. It was a whole new way of coming together and partying. Through the 90's, and the greatest technological revolution mankind has ever experienced. Psy-Trance evolved, inspiring an entirely new way of wiewing the human condition in a world of technological music. Broadened minds with even broader horizons have embraced a variety of life-impacting party concepts as diverse as deco nature, open mindeness, respect for all people, the importance of a space to chill, high identification of the organisers, trance music and time.

While Trance Culture is still an underground phenomenon in most countries, it as grown impressively within the last five years. Its become bigger, more professional, world embracing very divers and, in somes places, even accepted! Trance, like any long-term, fundamental cultural shift, evolves. It develops itself. It's alive!

Since it's inception in 1997, Chaichop (www.chaishop.com) has emerged as the major website for the global trance culture. Today, over 50,000 visitors a month browse Chaishop.
